Why you will love getting your bikini waxed
Waxing doesn’t just remove hair, it also exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells.
Waxing removes hair from the root. This combined with the exfoliating effect makes your skin lovely and smooth.
Since your hair is being removed by the root, it will take much longer to grow back than with shaving.
And when your hair does grow back, it will be finer, softer and sparser.
When you are waxed by a professional, there is less irritation to the skin compared to other hair removal methods.
Types of bikini waxes
BIKINI WAX
A basic tidying. We wax the sides of your panty line and across the top. This will prevent any hairs from showing when you are wearing your bathers.
BRAZILIAN
Removes all the hair from the front, all the way to the back with an added butt strip. Can remove all the hair for a nude look, or you can leave a triangle, strip, or square on the front.
How to prepare for your bikini wax
Relax, gorgeous
The pain that sometimes gets associated with waxing is mostly caused by the anxiety and tension a person feels while on the waxing bed. The more relaxed you are, the less painful the experience will be. View your waxing experience as a bit of pampering that results in luxuriously smooth skin.
Your hair should be at least a ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice), to allow the wax to grip around the hair. If it is your first time waxing, then we recommend you refrain from shaving for at least two weeks before your appointment. After your first wax, it is recommended to wax every three to four weeks. When you get home, throw your razor away, because you’ll never have to shave again!
what to expect during a treatment
At your first visit we ask you to complete our consultation form and our therapist will have a quick chat relating to any sensitivity of your skin.
We then take you to the treatment room and ask you to remove your clothing from the waist down. You are welcome to wear a disposable g string if you prefer however this is not necessary for our therapist and we can work faster without it. We then settle you on the bed, ensuring you are comfy.
The first step is to cleanse and then apply pre waxing oil to prepare the skin.
We when begin waxing. You will be asked to move your legs from time to time into a position that assists with the removal of the hairs. If the wax is too warm, or you are uncomfortable in any way, please ensure you let your stylist know.
Once the area is waxed we then apply an after wax soothing cream and you are done!
Maintenance Appointments are essential to not only maintain clean and smooth skin but to also reduce the level of pain. The more frequently you are waxed, the hair is shorter and the treatment is less painful. These appointments are required every 4 weeks.
Do's and Don'ts
Do's
During your treatment, relax and breathe. Think of something calming. The more relaxed you are, the better the waxing experience will be.
Advise whether there are any medications you are taking, such as antibiotics, Accutane, or topical creams you’re using, such as Retin-A, which may not be compatible with waxing.
Don't
Tan the area you plan to wax 24 to 48 hours before your appointment.
Consume alcohol or significant amounts of caffeine before your appointment. They can cause your pores to tighten, making the treatment a little more uncomfortable.
Get burnt before your treatment as we will not be able to proceed.
